Welcome

In Gambia (West-Africa) you can find two small and quit guesthouses: Kairoh Garden Tanjeh, situated in a fishermen’s village on the Gambian coast, and Kairoh Garden Kuntaur, upcountry on the banks of the Gambia River, both founded by Kawsu Sillah and Barbara Somers. Both of the guesthouses are peaceful places, which is also expressed in the name: Kairoh means peaceful in the Mandinka language. And that is what we want to offer our guests: an inspiring stay amidst African life and culture. Short or longer stays for the purpose of holiday, studies, research or employment can be accommodated. Each of the guesthouses have a unique atmosphere and in both places you can experience the versatility of the African way of living.
